A classic Nickelodeon show, Avatar: The Last Airbender is sure to please all ages. In this ancient-feeling dystopia, the world's nations are divided into their four elemental bending skills - The Fire Nation, The Earth Kingdom, The North and South Water Tribes, and the Air Nomads. We are introduced into the show during the 100-year war, ignited by the Fire Nation. Only the Avatar, a master of all four elements, has the power to end the war and restore balance to the world. After being frozen in ice for nearly 100 years, 12-year-old Aang - an all-around nice monk-in-training - must master all four elements and find a way to stop and dismantle the Fire Nation before they cause too much damage. This show has a plethora of valuable moral lessons, all wrapped up in a fascinating mythology setting, with a flying sky bison and winged lemur to boot! And be sure to check out the sequel show, The Legend of Korra, where we follow a new Avatar and her many adventures.
The newly discovered Avatar, twelve year-old Aang, must learn to master the four elements to save his world from the Fire Nation.
