After picking up Enclave and reading the synopsis, I felt that it was a good fit for me. Bold characters enduring life during a post-war, dystopian era. What more is there to like, right? This book astounded me. Quite honestly, it had just about everything I seem to enjoy--zombie-like creatures that hunt humans, strong female lead characters, and unique plot twists that have you gasping out loud, or yelling, "WHAT?! NO!" It all starts in the underground society called College, which holds only about 100 people, and is run by the eldest individual in the society--whom is 25 years old. The main characters, Deuce and Fade, are sent away from their society after questioning the proclamations of their elder. Their punishment is exile to "Topside," which the elders have told stories about for generations that once a person steps to the surface, their entire body would burn. This story leads you on an adventure from Deuce's point of view, where she discovers that her entire life has been a lie.
In a post-apocalyptic future, Deuce, a loyal Huntress, brings back meat while avoiding the Freaks outside her enclave, but when she is partnered with the outsider, Fade, she begins to see that the ways of the elders may be wrong.
