Borges is a master of the short story format and this collection includes some of his best (in addition to a few essays and parables). Throughout his stories, there are elements of fictionalized autobiography that make his reading very approachable and engaging. He ranges from the commonplace to the fantastic, even bordering on Science Fiction at times. Although they are all meritorious in their own way, if I had to choose one story to read from Labyrinths it would be The Library of Babel. Anything more I could say would be a major spoiler so...you'll just have to take my word for it. Ok Ok, in my mind there's a thematic link to a certain Doctor Who episode. That's all I'll say.
