Just a heads up before you read this book: Don't read this while on your lunch break especially if you're having sushi! Parasites have evolved to live inside your body and will actively choose to make your skin, eyes, tongue, brain, or genitals into its bedroom. Honestly, having a parasite devour your tongue then take its place doesn't sound too bad in the world of parasites. You don't die from it, and the parasite gets to eat nibbles of the food you consume. To me, that sounds better than being unable to read this book because you were afflicted with River Blindness from the Onchocerca Volvulus worm.
A look inside the often hidden world of parasites turns the clock back to the beginning of life on Earth to answer key questions about these highly evolved and resilient life forms.
