Fallon is a fierce female warrior who decides no one is going to decide her life for her. When she is told how her future will be, she decides to run away and gets captured by men who would sell her to be a gladiatrix. This is an interesting take on a Roman pastime in the eyes of a 17-year-old girl. I did not expect to love this book as much as I did. It weaved a beautiful story that captured me completely and has still not let go. I can't wait for the sequel.
Fallon, the daughter of a Celtic king, is captured and sold to a training school for women gladiators under the patronage of Julius Caesar, circumstances that put her survival in the hands of an enemy who was responsible for her sister's death.
