This excellent police novel is so well written. Within a few sentences, the author fleshes out his characters so well that even the drugged up witnesses are interesting. This is the story about what happens when you cant let go of something in your past. Be it a cop with the perp that got away, or a mistake made by a teenager; Brandt/Price ratchets up the consequences in this briskly paced novel. This book is also an exploration of family the ones we are born with and the ones we choose.
