Overview

An 1895 dystopian post-apocalyptic science fiction novella about a Victorian scientist known as the Time Traveller who travels to the year 802,701. The term "time machine", conceived by Wells, is now almost universally used to refer to such a vehicle or device. This limited collector's edition was published as part of The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written Collection. Bound in maroon leather with gilt decoration and lettering, four raised bands, orange moire endpapers with matching silk place marker sewn in, all edges gilt. Bumped at head and foot of spine. Illustrated by Joseph Mugnaini, Frontpiece by Alan Phillips, with introduction by J.B. Priestley and afterward by Brian W. Aldiss. Unused Easton Press bookplate lain in.
