Inscribed My Imprisonment at Washington, 1863
Your Ridgmar HPB has a rare historical find with My Imprisonment, and the First Year of Abolition Rule at Washington, by Mrs. Rose Greenhow. This book was published in Britain in 1863 by Richard Bentley and is inscribed by the author. Inscription reads, "To Mrs. McHenry, With my sincere regards, Rose O'Neal Greenhow, London Nov 14th." Greenhow led an adventurous life as a Confederate spy in Washington, D.C. in 1861. She and her daughter were apprehended in 1861 and released in 1862. In 1863-64, she traveled through France and Britain on a diplomatic mission for the Confederacy. See store for details.

Your Ridmar HPB has a 1943 edition of Yankee Lawyer: The Autobiography of Epraim Tutt. This is an unusual autobiography of a fictitious character by lawyer and writer, Arthur C. Train.
