HPB North Lamar

Havent been inside of a Half Price in forever!Huge selection of books, comics, vinyls, games, and puzzles it honestly feels like you could wander around for hours and still find something new every lap. The staff was incredibly sweet & helpful too!Their rare/collectibles section was especially cool to browse through, and I ended up picking up some really unique jigsaw puzzles to keep me occupied this weekend.

I love half price books and this store is one of the best ones in Austin. Im not sure but it might also be the first one that came to Austin, its been here for at least 20 years maybe 30. They obviously have tons of books, but they also have audiobooks, DVDs if anybody uses those anymore, stationary, calendars, games, and children, toys, and a good selection of rare and signed books. For donations, its easiest to take things in the door on the south side of the building around the corner from the main entrance, if you have a lot of books. If you have good books, you would make more selling them your yourself on Amazon or eBay, but youd waste a lot more time doing it too. This is one of the best bookstores in Austin, I think I only like Book People better.

Really great bookstore with great staff. Ive traded probably hundreds of books here and they are quick and fair with their pricing. I once left a $20 bill in a book and they returned it to me, it was more than the entire trade-in. They also do a great job supporting local authors and publishers. I also feel this store accurately reflects what the local neighborhood is bringing in for trade. The art section constantly has interesting finds I rarely find in other stores.
