Hardcover first American edition of Sinclair Lewis' satirical novel "Babbitt." Published in 1922, the novel critiques the vacuity of middle class life and the social pressure toward conformity. Lewis later won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1930. Stated fourth printing. Condition of the book is very good. Spine shows some fading; blue cloth boards are slightly scuffed on the back but are otherwise unmarked; binding is tight; textblock is toned; some light pencil markings to the front free endpaper.
