Written by Howard R. Falling ill along the way, he leaves his family and the handcart company to be cared for by a Native American family. As the story unfolds he joins his older brother at Ft. Bridger and they travel West together to finally reunite with their family in the valleys of what is now Utah. This is a facsimile edition with historical end notes.
