The title translates to "Campfires Along the Equator" and is a mid-century memoir of a Dutch physician, Dr. Paul Julien, who traveled to various African countries to study, document and assist in various medical efforts. While the text is in Dutch, the vibrant black and white pictures document the land and the culture of the people encountered.
