This is a Dr. Seuss book for the toddler set. It focuses completely on counting and on early reading with repetition and simple words. It is very fun to read this with my kids and let them count the apples, or to see if they can begin to recognize words after they are repeated a few times. I have a deep and abiding love for Dr. Seuss and it's great that he has a few books that are fun to start before kids are really into following a story line like his other books. The pictures in this book are fun too. I would recommend this book to anyone with smaller kids. It is pretty basic, so I can imagine that as they get older they might lose interest in the counting and the repetition. I would definitely read this to your kids when they are starting to develop an interest in reading on their own.
