Mark Manson's "The Subtle Art of Not Giving an F*ck" was an unexpected read-through, and an even more interesting work to sit and think on. I picked this title up originally expecting a quick laugh, but as I dug into Manson's take on what true happiness is and how we constantly get in our own way, I repeatedly found myself thinking about my own view on life in-between my chuckles and outright laughter. Mark Manson invites us to reassess what matters most to our lives and values. Reconfiguring how we look at what makes us happy, and realizing that which we believe constitutes a happy life, might not actually be the case. Manson uses a hilarious and straight shooting tone to convey deep thoughts and concepts in a very light and approachable way, but the delivery can lead to some pretty heavy life altering thoughts about ourselves, our reality, and what we want to get out of it. Truly a book to give an F*ck about!
