Teacher Education Programs in the United States: A Guide

The National Center for Education Statistics has predicted that some 2.4 million new teachers will be needed by 2008-09 because of teacher attrition and retirement, and increased student enrollment. The projections indicate the importance of offering information to prospective students, and their counselors, who are interested in entering teacher education programs.
