Folio paperback with folio-sized pamphlet insert. The latter is Bookman Portfolio with 3 tipped plates. Book comes in very rare, apparently custom-made, heavy cloth violet clamshell case with weighted cover that folds out and over the book and insert. Beige, printed wrappers with pictoral, color paper paste-down on front cover. Beautiful color and b/w illustrations throughout. Some foxing to edges and tanning to spine. Fascinating historical artifact.
