An illustrated magazine published monthly from January to July. Good condition. Quarto. Illustrated with wood engravings, three quarter black leather and black cloth, lettered in gilt with marbled endpapers. The leather is scuffed on all edges and corners exposing board underneath. The gutter is exposed between the marbled endpapers. A library stamp is used on the first two pages. On the title page there is an inscription in light blue color pencil. In 2014 a copy was found bound in human skin, which was later removed from Harvard's library's collection and placed in storage. Harvard University has since acknowledged the book's past stewardship and is actively researching ways to ensure respectful disposition of the human remains.
