Explaining William Faulkner's relationship to Oxford, Mississippi. Though he was not born in the city, he was raised in Oxford, and the town served as the inspiration for his fictional Yoknapatawpha County, which appears in many of his works. The town and its surrounding area provided a rich backdrop for his literary creations. First edition inscribed by the editor on half title page, "For, Faye Keene with regards. James W. Webb September 11, 1964." Bound in black cloth with green and silver lettering, bumped at spine ends with illustrative endpapers. Wraped in gold DJ depicting Faulkner that is chipped with open tears around edges and has been price clipped, now in mylar.
