    This is the first book in a series of truly wonderful books by Lemony Snicket. I read it to get ready for the series coming out on Netflix and although I had seen the movie with Jim Carrey, I was pleasantly surprised by the book. The way the author has written it for his young readers is truly magical, explaining the meaning of words and building vocabulary but making it fun and engaging. A great read for kids who enjoy chapter books, and it's also great reading for those of us wondering what's coming up on Netflix.
