one of the best books i've read
Would RecommendRian R. - 7 months agothere were all kinds of strange and shocking scenes in this book but what disturbed me the most was the fact that it is based on a true story (minus the supernatural elements..). i honestly think this book should be taught in school while learning about slavery and the aftermath of slavery in the US. such a good book!!!!!!

Beloved
Julie S. - 5 years 1 month agoI had high expectations of this book- given all the positive press and Nobel prize. Instead, I found it very difficult to read emotionally, as well as productively. The story itself is heartbreaking, but the writing style left me frustrated and confused, often rereading for understanding. I finally just plowed through it just to get done!
