The story of how family influences fate
Mary F. - 5 years 6 months agoBless Me, Ultima is one of my favorite coming of age novels. Antonio, a seven year old boy, embarks on a journey of spiritual growth. Will he follow a predestined path to priesthood, abiding by his mother's wishes? Will he let the free spirit of his father's family guide him? Antonio searches for answers through faith in God, but also finds new meaning in spirituality through his mentor Ultima, a curandera. Now the responsibility of this seven year old boy is to determine who he must become at such a simple stage of his life. As Ultima teaches Antonio about nature and life, he learns that family expectations are high but they don't necessarily need to be met. Antonio will form his own path. #SpringPicks
