Zahra M.M.A. Sadiq reconciles state-of-the-art computer technology and the knowledge of the domain expert. The interdisciplinary compositional conception that is called floating counterpoint shapes the creation of music in the twenty-first century by integrating electronic, computational and algorithmic procedures. In order to create a concept for this specific form of music Zahra M.M.A. Sadiq redefines numerical proportional relationships and develops a conception that integrates a compositional, an esthetic and a technical structure. Among the qualities that make this music exceptional are the unique experimental forms and the colorful harmonics, the extended tonality of the early moderns and contemporary music, the elaborate counterpoint and highly structured serial techniques.
