If you love DC comics, the heroines of the series, and history, then this is almost everything you could ever dream of! This takes the female stars of DC comics and puts them in the time period of when bombshell art was popular during World War 2. It covers all the gals like Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Batwoman, Supergirl, Catwoman, Stargirl (shocker!), and so many more. Not only does this have beautiful art as well as engaging characters it offers a light history lesson on actual events! The greatest part as far as I can tell from reading this series is that they are leading up to a female justice league, or I personally hope it does! It's a comic that I have subscribed to and eagerly await for the next issue. The first part more or less centers around Wonder Woman and Batwoman lining up a rather enthralling story where the two women are meeting up with other bombshells fighting for a greater cause. It's a must read and a great thing to collect to have on your shelves. I hope you like it as much as I have, it's a marvelous female empowering coming of the ages.
HPB Staff ReviewAlthough the story of WWII is well-known and documented throughout the history books, DC Comics puts a little twist on the story (of course!) by turning back the clock for some of our favorite DC Superheroines. The DC Comics Superheroines Wonder Woman, Stargirl, Supergirl, Mera, Zatanna, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy come together in this funny, artistically fantastic graphic novel to help win the fight against Hitler. Each heroine is depicted as a Pin-Up girl of the era (Batwoman as the bat-slinging baseball star of the Gotham Knights is absolutely wonderful!), but their bombshell looks do not hold back their amazing abilities (Harley Quinn quickly fashions herself a mallet when the need for one arises!) It's playful and whimsical while still being a twist on a serious point in history.
