Definitely enjoyed some true LOL moments. Wong’s direct discussions of her body and womanhood are relatable at times and cringe-worthy at others. Overall an entertaining read!
This book was amazingly endearing and hilarious! Ali Wong is honest and tackles life as an Asian American women in stand-up and gets clear about that not being her sole identity. She talks about the lessons learned and waves she faced while on her life journey. I love that she does not sugar coat anything when it comes to her body and feelings on stage and off. She is smart, graphic, and down right honest. I 100% would recommend to anyone!
Such laughs! I'd never heard of Ali Wong. Had no idea who she was until a month, pretty much at the beginning of our shelter-in-place order I'd borrowed it from a friend who actually knows her personally. I'm not into reading biographies even less by those who're barely 40. I mean, what can a 40 year old say about their life that's going to make me interested? My life's been/is pretty amazing! No bragging meant. just a fact. But this one being recommended by a good source and all I thought why not. And did I enjoy it! It was hilarious, but tender when tenderness was required. And witty and yes, interesting. This woman has a way of saying things and it's worth listening to her. Amidst her wackiness there are some serious truths, always good point for reflection. I've recommended it to several friends already.
Ali is hilarious, hardworking, courageous, and this book is a quick read for fans who want to hear more from her. If you've seen her comedy, then you know what to expect.
