#summerreading This book contains 4 short stories. Shawshank redemption and the body were great, usual Stephen king masterpieces. One story in the middle, Apt Pupil, was good, but so disturbing that it took me a long time to get through it because I had to stop reading a lot. That’s in the middle, so you have to push through to get to the last 2 stories and it’s worth it!
Different Seasons contains four novellas, three of which have been turned into movies. "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" became Shawshank Redemption with Tim Robbins as Andy and Morgan Freeman as Red. Told from Red's point-of-view, we learn about Andy and his time at Shawshank prison. "Apt Pupil" and the movie by the same name introduces Todd Bowden and his burgeoning obsession with the dark past of an elderly man in town. "The Body" better known as the movie Stand By Me is a coming-of- age story about four young boys and their brush with mortality. "The Breathing Method" is the only novella from this book that has not been made into a movie. Adley hears this bizarre tale told to her by an old doctor.
