Because Arrakis is the only source of "spice", a priceless resource vital for space travel, the Atreides face a deadly political trap set by the Padishah Emperor and their long time raval, House Harkonnen. Published in 1987 as a Memorial Edition, this volume features a genuine orange leather binding with gilt decoration and lettering, with three raised bands, tan moire endpapes and matching silk place marker sewn in.
