This is the sequel that should have come to the big screen. Timothy Zahn's writing style is very easy to understand and immerse yourself in. The returning characters (Luke, Han, Leia, Lando, etc.) are consistent with they way they were in the movie. The new characters (such as Mara Jade and Talon Karrde) are some excellent editions to the Star Wars Universe. Thrawn is an intimidating villain and most of the time he's looking at art; he's cold and calculating and carries the same threat level as villains like Vader. If you're a Star Wars fan, definitely give this book a look! #SpringPicks
One of, if not, the best stories in the Star Wars Expanded Universe and a fantastic beginning for Zahn’s trilogy #SpringPicks.
The origins of Grand Admiral Thrawn started in 1991 with a trilogy of books that would launch the Star Wars extended universe into orbit. Though considered Legends at this point, the story telling is as exciting as the original movies. Start the journey here, and continue with book two, Dark Force Rising.
