Really love the storyline. A very good book for young adults especially teens.
Most Newbery winners are kids books that only appeal to adults. "Holes" is one of the few which appeals to all ages. #RequiredReading
As a young adult during COVID, one way to help during this time, I’ve started to reread books I LOVED during childhood and adolescence. Holes was at the top of the list! I absolutely loved Holes as a child and I love it as a young adult! Sachar does an amazing job with putting these multifaceted stories together and showcasing that although your past doesn’t completely encompass you, it can affect affect your present and your future! I highly recommend this book for young adolescent or if you just want to have a nostalgic experience! Love it. #RequiredReading
Holes is a deeply moving novel that can be enjoyed no matter how old you are. It effectively covers themes of prejudice, racism, and friendship while maintaining a blend of realism and whimsy. The novel never feels too whimsical to be farcical, but is nevertheless funny, engaging, and thoughtful. #SummerReading
