Keliko A. - 5 years 6 months agoLOVE THIS BOOK! This story provides a glimpse of how Mahu people are an accepted identity in traditional Hawaiian culture. Mahu are people who do not identify strictly with either male or female identity, and traditionally, in Hawaiian culture, Mahu are respected and revered. This modern story about Ho'onani shows how LGBTQ+ people still exist, have always existed, and thrive in our society if only we stop putting barriers in their way. #SpringPicks
