I enjoyed this book more than any others I've read in my bookgroup in the last 6 mo. It had fully developed characters, and the plot moved along at a good pace. We 5 bookgroupers, together for 15+ years, did not like Dannie because she was very self-centered and took her boyfriend David for granted, through 5 years of being engaged and never setting a date. She cared about her friend, Bella, but treated her like a child at times, which we didn't appreciate. Dannie's relationship with Aaron split our group from disgust to relief. We are mature, professional married women with children, so we understand all those relationships.
In Five Years is one of those books where the ending either makes or breaks it. Unfortunately, the ending is disappointing and breaks it. #SpringPicks
This was recommended by a friend and I thought I was getting into the typical love story. Very nice twist with a somewhat unexpected ending. Very easy read relaxing by the pool or enjoying a rainy day #SpringPicks
I expected this book to go one direction, a very predictable love story, but it ended up veering down a very different path. This book spoke to me on so many levels: the sickness, the relationship oddities and the strength of family. Would recommend! #SummerReading
I really loved the twists and turns this story took. The characters were engaging and relatable. Though the book is a bit melancholy, it is also incredibly sweet and the ending is perfect for this story.
