The best collection of shorts I have ever read. The author writes about the nuances of family in a deeply personal and intoxicating way. I couldn't put it down. #springpicks

Lahiri's short stories about love are real page-turners. They also displays immigrants from India who must become accustomed to life in America. A very enjoyable read! #SummerReading

  • Unique details

    Caitlin V. - 6 years ago

I read most of these short stories for a class I'm taking, but I loved them so much that I wanted to finish the collection. The way that Jhumpa Lahiri paints reality with the most unique and rare details makes each story so beautiful to read. She expresses human emotion through images that I never would have thought to describe them in. Such a fantastic collection of stories! #SummerReading

  • A Worthwhile Read!

    Rhitom M. - 6 years 2 months ago

The book arrived within a few weeks, and I burned through it within a few hours. Lahiri's prose is beautiful, and the stories she tells reach a unique point of truth that few other authors I've read have been able to reach. It is rare to find writing that is as accessible as it is worthwhile, and I love this book for its ability to traverse both beautifully.
