A wonderful story of childhood friendship, mythical creatures, and eerie mysteries. With the art talent of Brooke Allen and Noelle Stevenson, it packs a visual punch. If you've been craving more Gravity Falls and believe, like I do, that more girls kicking butt makes any story better you will absolutely love this comic.
HPB Staff ReviewWhen I saw this book I was expecting a book about girls at summer camp just being typical girls and making new friends. That is not what this book is, yes they are friends having fun adventures at summer camp but these adventures are bizarre and supernatural. There is a lot of 80s terminology that is nostalgic and takes you back. This is a great book for both kids and adults.
HPB Staff ReviewThe Lumberjanes are picking up the banner dropped some time ago by the major comic book companies, and left totally forgotten in the dust with the success of big-budget superhero movies: Comedy and adventure are loved by children, too. In fact, some would say the very most meaningful of stories are the ones we can use to communicate with the next generation before they grow up and find us too boring to listen to at all. THAT'S what the creators of the Lumberjanes are doing: Bringing all the joy of old school, all ages superhero comics to the kids and teens who want better than having to settle for comics for babies and comics for adult male comic book fans. Lumberjanes mixes Greek mythology with the Lovecraft Mythos with a fresh, modern take on all of it. And it is above all FUN!
