“She places the list on top of the notebook. At the top of the list, it reads, Things I Want to Do. Maybe One of These Days…Maggie scratches out part of the title so that the list reads, Things I Want to Do. Maybe Now…We shouldn’t revolve our lives around their possible endings. We should revolve our lives around the experiences that lead to the endings.” If I could “add another line to my bucket list. It would only be two words. Jake. Griffin. It wouldn’t say, Make love to Jake Griffin or Marry Jake Griffin. The entire tenth item on my bucket list would simply be his name, almost as if I could somehow accomplish him as a whole. Item number ten to accomplish: Jake Griffin.” “Warren and Ridge have been best friends for years…Warren used to date Maggie, but they didn’t last very long before Ridge swooped in and claimed her…Maggie and Ridge dated for six years, but that ended when Sydney moved in last year. Now Sydney is dating Ridge, but she doesn’t actually live here with us anymore. Maggie does, though. Until her new apartment is ready, which is here in the same complex as both of her ex-boyfriends…And no, none of this is weird. At all…We all pretend we’re best friends and we spend the whole day doing best-friend stuff together.” “We’ve shared a lot of chapters that don’t need to be torn out of our book simply because there are things in them you don’t like. It’s part of our story. Every single sentence counts toward our happy ending, good or bad…I don’t want you out of the picture. This was your picture first…But now that I’m a part of it, we all need to figure out how to fit in the frame…Just because I haven't been around for most of your past doesn’t mean I’m not aware of our present. And all the things that might or might now happen in the future…wherever this whirlwind takes us…That’s the beauty of love, isn’t it? It comes in so many different forms, shapes, sizes, textures. And it’s ever changing…Maybe predictable isn’t always preferable…our maybe someday just became our absolutely forever.”
This book is so good. Another great one from Colleen! It brought back all the memories from the first book, while giving new perspectives. I really liked Maggies story. 10/10 recommend! #SpringPicks
