A harrowing book about the epidemic of rape.
Jourden S. - 1 year 1 month agoIf you've ever read anything by Jon Krakauer then you know firsthand his powerful storytelling and dispassionate reporting. In Mary Karr's Book "The Art of Memoir," Karr applauds Krakauer for his commitment to the truth when writing nonfiction, and this can certainly be applied to the alarming "Missoula." "Missoula" goes beyond the rape narrative by delving into the struggles victims suffer long after the rape, namely, when turning to the justice system for help. This book will make you cringe, weep, and think, but it's a book to be read by all in order to better understand the troubles victims endure when trying to pursue their attacker.
