Aristotle reflects on the manifestations of virtue, seeking to find practical answers to the questions of the nature of goodness Socrates posed through Plato's writing. He uses a theory of the human soul composed of three parts, which is similar to Plato's theory, but unlike Plato, Aristotle takes an affirming view of human appetites when they are kept in balance by virtue practiced through action. The section discussing different types of friendships was very interesting; he discussed three types of friendships: ones for pleasure, utility, or virtue. He also has an extended section on political philosophy. #SummerReading
