  • A Golden Age Giant

    Keep an eye out for any of these great Plastic Man reprints of his Golden Age appearances. He was originally created for Police Comics and the concept, at first, was that Plas was a reformed criminal, who STILL went about in outlaw circles as "Eel" O'Brien, but would also constantly betray his fellow crooks to the police, in the guise of Plastic Man. This made him a rat of the first order, but it also gave the stories a very dynamic, edgy feel. The plots are often just as elastic as the hero's body! The art, while lackluster compared to today's graphic novels, is really not bad when judged in terms of Golden Age styles. And, these old comics do have racist and sexist tropes lurking around every corner... Minus a star for that.
