  • Shotgunning 101 for the Well-Mannered Sportsman

    John H. - 5 years 6 months ago

"Game Shooting" teaches the Robert Churchill school of shotgun shooting technique (ca. 1955) as applied originally to the British double gun and British field and estate game shoots. His specifics of stance, gun mount, gun swing and "instinctive shooting" to establish forward allowance (or lead) are still widely taught by shooting coaches both in the US and abroad, while other American coaches have adapted his basic elements to incorporate alternative methods of applying lead. Recent editions of Churchill's classic have been updated to better serve American shooters, their sporting arms and shooting locales. Start your shooting education with Churchill, then investigate other schools of thought regarding shooting style that may better complement your physical and mental attributes for shooting. This is a worthwhile fundamental read, both enlightening and entertaining.
