Mal is annoying and very snobby. Also, Alain is a little indecisive so everyone makes decisions for her.
★★★★/5 I was terrified of reading this book. I had heard such mixed reviews, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm so glad I decided to pick this book up, though, because I absolutely loved it. From the beginning, I was HOOKED. Leigh Bardugo's writing is beautiful and (even though I can't pronounce any of the Ravkan words) she creates a whole other world to immerse yourself into. All the characters are amazing* (I may or may not be in love with the Darkling 👀) and the plot develops beautifully. There was just the right mix of chaos, angst, romance, and adventure to keep me intrigued at all times. *including Mal (he doesn't deserve the hate, he's the sweetest🥺) #SpringPicks
This book was so good!! It had great world building and a good plot twist. Alina is a great character and I love the I idea of the shadow fold. It’s beautifully written, and has an amazing plot, I couldn’t put it down.
My original push to start reading this book was the Netflix Show coming out in a few weeks to be honest. But I'm glad I watched the trailer because the visual representation of the Void was truly so magical to be read about. The entire story is fresh full of new ideas and different main characters that seem more relatable.
All of the typical YA archetypes were present, but I still enjoyed the story despite them. I really liked the world created in this book. #SummerReading
