  • Good but can be overwhelming

Second Stephen King book I have ever read, first time reading one of his short story collections. There were a few good ones in here that stand out; the main ones that everyone says are good. The obvious one is The Mist, also a movie and TV show. The other good ones were The Raft, Word Processor of the Gods, and Survivor Type. WPOTG was made into an episode of Tales from the Darkside, I believe. I really enjoyed The Raft because it feels like you are there, struggling with a life and death decision. You feel stuck. The description in it is also only how King can write it. A lot of people say The Jaunt is very good, but I wasn't impressed by it. I feel like it started out too slow and was not very well executed. Overall, some fun stuff in Skeleton Crew. Looking forward to his other short story collections. I'd say 3.5 for this one. #SummerReading

Even though they are horror stories, I love how Steven King's writes and how insightful he is.
