    Before Todd McFarlene went on to create Spawn and be a founder of Image Comics; Mcfarlene was the lead artist of Spider-Man in the mid 8o's to early 90's. Drawing the earliest appearances of Venom among other highlights in Spider-man's history. A key installment in Mcfarlene's work on the character comes in the form of Torment. A six-issue story arc pitting Spider-Man against long time foe The Lizard in a hair raising and harrowing battle. Perfectly in line with other seminal Spidey tales such as Kraven's Last Hunt Torment is one of the most intense and haunting Spider-Man stories to date.
