If Star Wars novels were episodes of Friends, this is " The One Where Everything Went Sideways". To this day, I have yet to decide if this volume changed things for better or worse. However, the fact that I still think about this book years later indicates how strong of a narrative it contained. It single-handedly set the stage for the next two cycles of novels. These stories may no longer be considered canonical in relation to the films, but it was one wild ride. A continuation of the "Vong War" that revolves around the three children of Leia Organa and Han Solo, Star by Star serves up a desperate strike mission led by Anakin Solo (the youngest) on which the fate of the dwindling New Jedi Order hangs. With irrevocable consequences for all three, Troy Denning leaves us wondering if anything will ever be the same.
