Give the gift of STARDUST
Young Tristran Thorn will do anything to win the cold heart of beautiful Victoria--even fetch her the star they watch fall from the night sky. But to do so, he must enter the unexplored lands on the other side of the ancient wall that gives their tiny village its name. Beyond that old stone wall, Tristran learns, lies Faerie--where nothing not even a fallen star, is what he imagined.
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman comes a remarkable quest into the dark and miraculous--in pursuit of love and the utterly impossible.

Stardust starts off as a basic story of a young man who promises to fetch a fallen star for the woman he loves. He leaves his hometown, Wall, for the first time and crosses into a magical world. When he finds the star, he discovers that it is not just a hunk of rock, but rather a young woman with a sharp tongue and no intentions of being taken quietly. On their journey back to Wall, they must evade a witch who wants the star's heart, a band of princes all competing to reach the star first and all sorts of other magical obstacles. The writing is whimsical and lyrical, the story enchanting and I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a fairy tale written for adults.
HPB Staff ReviewStardust by Neil Gaiman is the story of Tristran, a love-struck teenager who sets out to retrieve a falling star to win the affections of his beloved. Upon leaving his provincial hometown, aptly named Wall, he discovers that the star he set out to retrieve is not just a shimmering rock or gem. This story has more surprises and subverted fairy tale tropes than you could shake a magic wand at. Stardust is s charming fairy tale with a decidedly mature and, dare I say, Grimm bent. Definitely worth a read for anyone who needs a sprinkling of magic in their life.
HPB Staff ReviewStardust tells the tale of young Tristran Thorn, a boy growing up in the English village of Wall, named after the wall running along side the village. On the other side of the wall is the land of Faerie, a magical place where witches and goblins and other creatures make their home. Tristran falls in love with Victoria, who promises anything he wishes should he bring back the star that fell across the wall. So Tristran does what no one dared to do before and crosses the wall to find the star. But a fallen star is a popular thing in Faerie, so Tristran and the star work to outwit and outrun witches, evil lords, goblins, forests and all sorts of trouble. Gaiman writes a wonderfully engaging fairytale with the right mix of suspense, fantasy, romance and adventure.
