A riveting and dark tale of Gotham
Philip T. - 5 years 5 months agoThis graphic novel features Batman issues 871-881, it compiles seminal Batman writer Scott Snyder's first published Batman comics. It's a dark and compelling story where in the absence of Bruce Wayne many great characters have an opportunity to shine. Dick Grayson shows why he is the best person to take over the mantle of the bat in Wayne's absence. Barbara Gordon is as smart and tough as ever, James Gordon is at his peak, and the two of them share some wonderful moments together. The Joker shows up as twisted and well written as ever but it's nice to see him take a back seat to other newer villains that manage to be as disturbing and dark as Gotham gets. And whether Jock or Francavilla are handling the art work, it is truly top notch. If you are a fan of Snyder's new 52 Batman or just a Batman or Nightwing fan I highly recommend this book.
