    The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon is a unique urban fantasy novel set in 2059 where cities are under the control of a new security force called Scion and people with special abilities are hunted down and persecuted for their gifts. Paige Mahoney is a Dreamwalker with the ability to break into and read other people's minds and works within the criminal underworld of London. She is soon captured, arrested, and given to a Keeper, Warden, to train her and use her for the Rephaite army. To escape she has to delve deeper into a world that is doing everything in its power to stop her kind. This novel has a little bit of everything; romance, political intrigue and paranormal fantastical elements. It is the first of a series aimed to be seven books long.
