Longing for What?
Sandy F. - 5 years 4 months agoi really liked the Book of Longing. The author had done a lot of research to remain true to the time. There are many people who think that Jesus was married. He was a young, Jewish man and in the book of Longing he acted like one. The characters were very well developed. The events in the story were based on real events.

HPB S. - 5 years 5 months agoThe Book of Longings is a stirring and rich story of family, a young woman determined to follow her own path in the challenging social and political culture of an ancient time and a fresh look at the world of Jesus' time.. It is carefully researched and remarkably written to engage the reader to follow the story but also feel the inside of each day's journey for Ana.

Ana and Jesus
Vicki P. - 5 years 6 months agoAs a follower of Jesus, I was a bit skeptical about this book. Sue Monk Kidd is a master storyteller, so I gave it a try. I was immediately pulled into Ana's life and story. Ms. Kidd's portrayal of Jesus as a young man finding his place was quite believable. I feel that Jesus's life was not abused. He was portrayed as a kind, loving and devoted man. Ana's journey through the book was sweet and heart breaking. For a book like this to stay out of the realm of "religiousness" is difficult. Ms. Kidd kept her distance well. Now this book is one of my recommended reads

The Book of Longings
HPB S. - 6 years 1 month agoLove Sue Monk Kidd to begin with. This has a new take for her. Love reading women of strength and the spiritually of this book is refreshing at this time in our society. Only half thru but enjoying.
