wonder additional book in the Outlander series. book was exactly as described
I am reading all of the books in the series. I don't know how anyone can write this many pages with such vivid detail. I love historic novels and the added time travel and romance just adds to my enjoyment. I went to Scotland last year and seeing places like Culloden Field made me want to start on this series. I am reading the books before I start on the TV series, because I don't know if they are the same.
With each boo, the author is becoming redundant with the descriptors of Jamie's hair, how he taps his fingers, et cet. However, he still is the best character of the series as Claire is becoming more self-righteous and affronted. She also always seems to be in a situation that she needs to be saved, always the damsel in distress.
I am a huge fan of this series and have been since the '90's. I always re-read the corresponding novel before I watch the new season on Starz because it helps me fill in gaps and answer questions for others watching with me who have never read the books. This is the fifth novel in the series. I enjoyed this book much more the second time through. There are many pieces which I feel could've been skipped to make for a shorter read but some of the things that seem inconsequential come into play later. Not all of them do. It's time travel - romance - historical fiction and some call it fantasy due to the time travel. #SummerReading The most addictive series I've ever read.
How is this book getting 4 & 5 star reviews??? I couldn't even finish it. I got a little over 1,000 pages in before calling it quits. I really REALLY tried, but honestly... What was this book even about? It was so painfully boring. It has officially marked the end of me caring about this series. #SummerReading
