  • Adventure and Wonder

What an adventure! It’s such an imaginative book and takes you through this wonderful world and journey by one of the best authors of all times. Such a classic and is a must read! I had to read it for class back in high school and I fell in love with it and JRR Tolkien’s wise words spoken through the characters. #SummerReading

  • Adventure awaits!

The Hobbit is a must read, a real adventure from beginning to end. It's also fun to compare them to the movies, there are plenty of differences between the two. I really enjoyed learning a bit more about the eagles and the shape shifter. #SummerReading

  • An amazing adventure filled with mythical creatures and exciting, suspenseful scenes

    Zane S. - 6 years 1 month ago

Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit, a little creature very similar to a man. He is a simple hobbit, the type who believes in second breakfasts and sitting beside the fire with some tea on a winter night. This all changes one nice spring morning when Gandalf the wizard approaches him with an idea. The idea of going on an adventure to find the great Smaug the dragon, and get back the precious gold and jewels that he stole from their ancestors. So together, with the help of a dozen or so dwarves, they embark on a fantastic journey in which they encounter evil goblins and wolves, mystical elves and shapeshifters, and of course, Smaug, the great dragon. This was an amazing adventure of a story that I would recommend to anyone. It is wonderful because it gives you a great description of everything that goes on in the story. For example, when the book describes Bilbo’s home, it doesn’t leave you wondering what it looks like. Anyone’s brain can easily interpret what the author is trying to describe, and you’ll picture a cozy little hole in the side of a little hill, with many rooms and a nice little fireplace. Because it is such an amazing adventure filled with mythical creatures and exciting and suspenseful scenes, I give this book by J.R.R Tolkien five out of five stars.
