Pickup C. - 5 years 4 months agoI enjoyed THE JOY LUCK CLUB: A NOVEL and found that it helped me understand Chinese culture. The juxtaposition of the mothers with their Chinese-American reared daughters was insightful. The book has difficult moments but is well-written and interesting.

What is your relationship with your mother? Tan brings her reader into a novel with eight different perspectives. Not only will you peek into Asian culture and history, but you will be drawn into the mind of four Asian girls struggling to understand themselves and their mothers.
