    This is the quintessential book if you'd like to delve into the interworking of the universe. Penrose does a fabulous job of explaining things in an elementary way but he doesn't just stop there. Consider this a sort of choose your own adventure as each section of the book is filled with footnotes referencing more in depth explanations, from easy, intermediate, and finally difficult to comprehend. It's a great addition for those who like to dabble in the intellectual or as a companion for the studying mind.
