The Starless Sea is a love letter to story telling and fantasy. It takes you on a journey you wont forget and will still be dreaming of long after you finish. I devoured the book in just a few days and already I want to dive back in and read it again and again.

An engaging read that keeps you coming back for more until it's over.
Caiden K. - 2 years 11 months agoEverything about The Starless Sea boldly stands out from the rest of the stories I have read recently. At its heart, this story is an epic, embellished in mystery and romance. Several rich themes are carried throughout the text with flare, but the one that stuck with me the most was that of change. The change that happens when we "grow up" and lose the feeling of wonderment for the world around us; the change that occurs when we fall in love and the whole world flips upside down; the inevitable change of losing a close loved one; and most importantly, how we choose to embrace or fight those changes. I found myself fully entangled within the story, thinking about it all hours of the day, waiting for the moments I could immerse myself in the pages once more.

My new favorite book
Daniella T. - 3 years 3 months agoI was a big fan of the Night Circus, Erin Morgenstern's debut novel, so when I heard she wrote a new book, I was very interested. However, I was not prepared for the mythos that Morgenstern had created in her world that seamlessly weaves itself together between each chapter and acts as small original fairy tales that paint the vast masterpiece that is the Starless Sea. Her choice of narration was incredibly well done and it's clear she knows fairy tales to an almost structural level. It was a treat to read and has easily become my favorite book.

LGBTQ+ Fantasy Adventure

A story of heroes dragged into an adventure they could have never expected is woven alongside fairytale vignettes and budding romance. Reading the Starless Sea is like being homesick for a place you've never been.

Classic!
BARBARA W. - 5 years 4 months agoI really enjoyed this book. I wouldn’t call it an easy read, I actually got halfway through and was lost, so I started over and eliminated distractions. It was well worth it. I loved the way the author paints pictures with her prose. I felt like I was on this adventure right beside the characters. And I loved how seemingly unrelated stories all come together in the end. One of my favorite books now. A keeper. I have already recommended this novel to my reading buddies. I even bought a copy for my best friend. Morgenstern was a new author for me but was already a favorite of hers. I know she’ll love this book too. If you love fantasy, adventure, and amazing characters give it a read.
